Oak Log Bed and Shelf
I am well in to making a queen oak log bed. I still have to mount the leg and lower rail braces, counter sink the screw holes, make log plugs for the screw holes, and make the mattress platform. I have spent over 30 hours on making this bed so far. I wish the bark fell off by itself and the sanding was easier. Pealing bark and sanding is the grunt work on making log furniture and takes the most time! I have to really spend quality time pealing and sanding, because it is what makes the furniture look awesome when it is stained and assembled! The shelf still needs to be stained, glued and rescrewed, and the barnwood shelved mounted.
