I had a custom order for this 43" x 43" barnwood table today. It is braced only at the top and has triangle leg braces on all sides for more stability. I dry brushed ebony (black) on the entire table and clear coated it before the ebony dried so the stain would mix and spread out looking more rustic. It worked great and looks awesome!
Is that the finish product? Looks like not.

It is finished product. It is very rustic and looks rough but is smooth to the touch. The dings, nail holes, and weathered look is left to make it look old. It is sanded and/or planed smooth, it is level, square, and solid. It was dry brushed with ebony (black) to patina it a bit and has many coats of clear polyurathane to protect it and make it smooth. Thank you for your question. "finished" product can mean a lot of different things. You have Ethan Allen "finished", Nebraska Furniture "finished", Ikea "finished", etc... and then you have rustic "finished". All have very different looks and try to reach a specific group of people who like their look.
